Veronica Utton

Managing Director



Ms Utton is a seasoned human resource professional whose career has spanned the non-profit, public and private sectors. Currently, she is managing director of V. Utton & Associates, providing boutique style human resource management services to small organizations with a focus in the non-profit sector. Additionally, Ms Utton coaches senior leadership candidates through career management and transition options as an Associate with Hazell & Associates and, is a part-time Professor with the Centre for Human Resources at Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology.

From 1999 to 2010 as the Director, Human Resources for UNICEF Canada–the Canadian arm of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)-Ms Utton’s responsibilities covered all aspects of human resources planning; organizational development; change management leadership; people and operations management; volunteer development; facilities management; corporate operations and warehouse logistics.

As the Manager, Human Resources of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and through 11 years of increased responsibilities, she successfully contributed to developing the role and credibility of the Human Resources function through integrated planning, resulting in centralized management systems and processes.

The early years of Ms Utton’s career–1984 to 1988-were spent in the financial services industry where she acquired and honed her accounting and business management knowledge.

Ms. Utton is currently a Board member for the HR Council for the Voluntary & Non-Profit Sector, is President of Scarborough Ladies Volleyball Association, served as a contributing member of HRPAO’s Resource Centre Advisory Board, and served with the Girl Guides of Canada’s National Human Resources Committee.

Ms Utton is a Certified Life Options Retirement Coach and a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (Seneca College) and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (York University).

 

Tracey Johnson

Sr. Learning & Development Associate



As part of the V. Utton & Associates senior management team, Tracey is responsible for and has a passion to influence and guide employees to achieve their full potential. From recruiter to training specialist to Manager, Learning and Development, each of these roles have afforded Tracey the ability to experience the full spectrum of an employee’s life cycle within an organization.

With more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Tracey has worked in all major areas of Human Resources including: training and development, management development/coaching, performance management, and change management. Tracey’s extensive experience in the implementation of workforce development programs gives her a solid foundation in the business and science of adult education. Tracey has been recognized for her cutting-edge approach to employee learning and development with the philosophy that “employee development is not a training session; it is a long-term sustainable process.”

Tracey has received notable accolades for her record of achievement in designing high impact manager programs; she has led a managerial leadership academy, managed national launches of employee engagement efforts, designed corporate rewards and recognition programs, designed employee and family assistance programs and brings a creative, impactful flare to employee communications.

Tracey is a Certified LRI 360 Feedback Coach/Facilitator, Certified DDI (Development Dimensions International) Facilitator with a Certificate in Human Resource Management (Seneca College) as well as a Certificate of Achievement – Intermediate (CSTD’s Professional Accreditation Program).
